WHAT IS STEWARDSHIP?

Donations, time, hard work, love. Stewardship comes in different forms, but it’s more than a good feeling: it’s actually what God calls us to do.

At TPC, we believe that stewardship is the outward expression of our inner relationship with God.

GOD GIVES TO US, AND WE GIVE TO OTHERS.

The Great Commission calls us to go out and spread God’s word through action — to share our blessings with our neighbors, communities, and the planet. We are the “hands and feet of God” when we engage in stewardship.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

Your generous contributions of time, talent, and donations make a difference to the Topsail community and beyond. Here are a few examples of our initiatives and outside organizations we partner with to benefit those in need.

WARM: Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry

WARM helps low-income, disabled, elderly, or veteran homeowners repair or maintain their homes in order to improve their quality of life. TPC volunteers get hands-on experience in construction and home maintenance while providing a much-needed service to the community.

Shepherd’s Box and Christmas Shoebox

The Shepherd’s Box is a donation box at TPC for collecting donations for rotating charities each month. Examples include food pantries, community centers, services for the elderly, and more. The Christmas Shoebox is a donation box unique to the Christmas season.

4 C’s: Christian Community Caring Center

The 4C’s provides healthy food to food-insecure families in Pender County and other nearby communities. They strive to restore “dignity, health, opportunity, and hope” to people most in need. The 4C’s is just one example of an organization featured in the Shepherd’s Box mentioned above.

Meals on Wheels

TPC participates in Meals on Wheels, a national organization that coordinates volunteers to deliver food to the disabled, elderly, and those isolated at home who struggle to obtain and prepare food for themselves. Meals on Wheels helps keep the elderly healthy, while also providing companionship.

Rise Against Hunger

Rise Against Hunger is a global movement to end hunger, providing opportunities for volunteers to donate time and money to serve those most in need. Our partnership with Rise Against Hunger allows our congregation to extend its impact to the global community and make a difference worldwide.

Youth Ministry

Want to get the kids involved? We provide age-appropriate tasks to kids of all ages so they can contribute to different missions, from packing food items for Meals on Wheels to garbage cleanup and home maintenance. We believe in the character-building power of demonstrating stewardship to our youth.

Samaritan’s Purse

Samaritan’s Purse is a disaster relief organization that mobilizes volunteers to provide shelter, food, and other emergency aid to those impacted by a wide range of natural disasters.

YOUTH ACTIVITIES

Our Tuesday night kid’s club at 5:30 PM is one of our most popular events for children. It gives the kids an opportunity to have fun while learning about God. Here’s what one of our members has to say, Cydney Schwarz, age 7:

How long have you been coming to the Tuesday night program?

“2 years.”

What do you like most about it?

“Seeing my friends and singing.”

What have you learned?

“The Ten Commandments, I learned about Lent and about Jesus Walking on Water.”
